About Monica

Monica is a third generation Italian from Connecticut. As a kid she took a big interest in food and cooking. Her childhood was centered around family dinners. They would have Sunday pasta nights and five course meals for every holiday, centered around talking, eating, and lots of laughing. Each meal was a labor of love. As Monica grew up she started cooking more with her Italian grandmother, Sun. She soaked up as much information as she could being the only grandaughter. Eventually as Sun got older and devloped dimentia, it was up to Monica to carry on the family traditions.

A couple years after college Monica decided to go on her own adventure out west. She moved to Denver, Colorado to explore the mountains. Along the way she explored different cuisines that were rooted in living in a big city. Monica explored the Hispanic influence in her neighborhood and the vegetarian restaurants that existed in the city.

Then, Monica decided to move to Big Sky, Montana to persue her ski bum dreams. She retired from her chemistry career and got a job at an upscale restaurant so she could never miss a powder day. Working at a restaurant reignited her passion for food. Monica worked with six different chefs during her time working at Horn & Cantle. Each chef gave her a different perspective on cooking and helped her expand her culinary knowledge.

After eight years out west, New England drew Monica back. The Upper Valley always held a special place in her heart. After college, Monica worked as a reaserach assistant at Dartmouth College and in the winters was a ski racing coach for Ford Sayre.

Now, Monica wants to help make special memories for her clients, surrounded by a table of family and friends, with plates full of her healthy, delicious food.
